The Compliance Analyst, who will report to the Managing Counsel within the Legal Department, will be responsible for establishing and improving, on an enterprise-wide basis, risk management and compliance programs, with a primary focus on data and privacy compliance. The role supports the organization through the legal compliance programs, policies, and processes by providing objective and professional evaluations of the company’s compliance operations, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. This individual will effectively exhibit JD Finish Line’s core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following key duties: Develops, maintains and supports JD North America and department-specific programs to ensure sustainable compliance with and operational effectiveness of federal and state laws and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CCPA, CPRA). Assists and contributes to compliance risk assessments by identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability, prioritization of compliance risk issues, and in the development, maintenance, and publishing of compliance audit findings and plans. Reviews, routes, and assists legal counsel with the preparation of responses to compliance inquiries. Actively participates on and may lead key compliance projects across a broad range of legal related matters. Develops, maintains and supports the implementation of internal and external processes within the organization, ensuring Business Unit-appropriate awareness and understanding of and compliance with such policies and processes. Audits legal and industry regulatory compliance and maintain current records of regulatory requirements and corresponding mitigating controls and compliance efforts. Collaborates with Business Units to ensure legal requirements and considerations are proactively, appropriately and adequately accounted for in their respective plans and initiatives and third party vendor contracts. Assists with investigations, compliance reviews and audits as prompted by employees, customers, vendors, internal and external auditors and legal and industry regulators. Stays current with new laws, regulations, industry standards, threats, trends, frameworks, industry and internal business practices and initiatives, recommending appropriate risk-mitigating and remedial actions. Supports Business Units in evaluating, initially and on a periodic basis, the policies, procedures and practices of third party vendors whose services impact organization operations and risks . Other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law or other related focus field from a four-year college or university and 2 - 4 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience is required. Foundational knowledge concerning compliance programs. Project management experience preferred Soft Skills Demonstrated ability to support and help manage programs in complex organizations. Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems in creative, efficient and cost effective ways. Demonstrated ability to develop professional presentations, reports and business correspondence. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and translate complex laws, regulations and industry standards into clear, easily understood requirements and desired outcomes. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and successfully in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams. Demonstrated ability to respond effectively and discretely to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a high level of initiative. Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems through strategic prioritization of competing interests. A general comfort level speaking in front of and training others.
