Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc. is Hiring a Staff UX Designer Near Los Angeles, CA

The Staff UX Designer works under limited supervision of senior development or design staff with duties including design, development, testing, debugging, and documentation of interactive components, in support of our software engineering efforts. Essential Job Functions: Consistently considers the holistic user experience. Drives the most appropriate deliverable for the work employing information architecture and interaction design. Begins every project by evaluating user research and consulting system analytics. Advises the most appropriate UX tool for the project which includes hand sketching, ideation techniques, and current design software. Evaluates new tools, recommending options to the design team. Develops strong insight into multiple products and can meaningfully articulate how users work between them. Communicates with product teams using their terminology to design with consideration to their concerns with minimal supervision. Presents complex ideas, goals, and problems, seeking feedback from leads, stakeholders, teammates, and product teams, and will actively work with their manager to filter and prioritize feedback. Demonstrates a strong understanding of the core principles of design thinking and can speak to its value and benefit when working across teams. Contributes to the UX team culture by participating in design-led projects, events, and discussions. Aids in advocating the UX team speaking to both FINRA and team initiatives. Participates in usability testing activities including observing, compiling feedback and findings, making recommendations, and producing reports. Effectively mentors junior staff. Assists with adherence to technology policies and comply with all security controls. Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Interactive Design, User Experience Design, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, or related discipline, with at least four (4) years of related experience or equivalent training, and/or work experience. Demonstrated technical expertise in interactive design technologies and concepts which resulted in the deployment of enterprise solutions. Experience with developing enterprise solutions in an iterative or agile environment. Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships that improved the quality of work products. Knowledge of industry standards including UX, graphic, and web application design. Strong verbal and written communications skills whether in one-on-one or group situations. Excellent organization skills, thorough, and able to handle competing priorities. Ability to maintain focus and develop proficiency in new skills rapidly. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ensures all work products meets or exceeds FINRA standards. Working Conditions: Work is normally performed in an office environment.
