Medical Device Network Software Architect (Live DATA Streaming) – Remote from USA

• A leading Medical Device company is developing a new patient monitoring medical device that live streams data from a patient to several other devices - instaneiously. Some of the devices use AI, and are located in separate rooms. They are having connectivity issues (experiencing lag & drop packets). They need a Systems Architect/Engineer t hat has expertise solving live streaming connectivity issues that can develop tools, test them, and overcome lag/drop packets. After they find a solution, this software leader must be able to write the software requirements needed, and work with the software development team so that together, they can HARDEN the entire system.

Must have experience performing software development on Medical Devices under IEC 62304

Responsibilities

• Responsible for developing and supporting real-time streaming media workflows , and workflow coordination layers for on-premise and network processing components.
• Partner with clients’ project, development, and testing teams to collaborate and create services and standards.
• Implement infrastructure, tools, and applications to test and monitor critical operational workflows in real-time, including the building of tools to manage and troubleshoot live data streams .
• Build automation and quality control checks to alert operators of any ongoing issues with existing live streams.
• Support live streams and events, maintaining high quality throughout the pub/sub chain .
• Be able to work flexible hours and work remotely at clients’ locations . (Medical device company).

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder. We will NOT sponsor visas for this role.
• Must HAVE 3 years of experience working on streaming workflows as a senior software leader.
• Must have worked on software for live streaming of medical devices under IEC 62304 regulations.
• Must have 7 years of hands-on professional experience with back-end systems development.
• UDP is required - Experience with video or DATA transport protocols such as RTP, RTMP, SRT, UDP, Zixi, RIST, HLS, MPEG-DASH .
• Robust programming skills and strong experience with OO languages.
• Strong understanding of IP routing, and comfortable with QoS and VXLAN technologies.
• Strong experience with network change-management control policies, and LAN and WAN troubleshooting skills and an understanding of network security best practices.
• Strong experience with scripting languages and automation tools.
• Desirable experience in operation, metrics, dashboard, and alerting.
• Client Facing - Must have great interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to transmit technical concepts to non-technical teams and clients.
• Must be able to work a few days a month actually onsite at a leading medical device company’s office. Prefer every week if possible.
• Comfort with the software development lifecycle and software-based tools and workflows.
