Job Summary

Job Title: Payroll Specialist

FLSA Status: Hourly

The primary focus of this position is to prepare, review and process our bi-weekly payroll; including the issuance of payroll direct deposit statements of earnings and deductions, payroll tax and deduction reporting.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Prepare, review, and process bi-weekly payroll.
  • Payroll tax and payroll deductions reconciliation.
  • Child support and garnishment deduction set-up and payment reconciliation.
  • Weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Associate degree in accounting required
  • 1-3 years payroll experience
  • A continuous improvement mindset
  • Organizing and prioritizing skills

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to communicate effectively across the organization and our vendor community
  • Ability to work with other departments within the organization to identify and implement process improvements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Able to sit 90% of the time
  • Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills

WORK SCHEDULE

The Payroll Specialist is a full time hourly position.
