Summary:

As a Surveyor for Fessler & Bowman you will assist Field Team Members in projects by staking out sites and developing the layout. Working closely with the Foremen, the Surveyor will aid in keeping customers satisfied and continuing the positive reputation of Fessler & Bowman. The below descriptions are representative of, but not limited to, the expectations of this role.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Foreman with plan layout and site stakeout needed
  • Transferring reference points and alignment from design drawings to the site to enable construction
  • Ability to read blueprints and layout jobs, mostly sidewalks, slabs, and walls with experience to set forms
  • Leadership experience in leading and managing a crew to produce quality results
  • Providing support through physical labor, equipment operation and any other tasks assigned
  • Ability to work independently and safely in conjunction with a foreman or project manager to solve problems in the field as needed
  • Site layout and plan reading, pipe installation, slip lining, concrete repairs, and precast concrete structure installation.
  • All other tasks to be assigned.

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

  • One-year minimum experience in the construction industry preferred
  • Elevations experience
  • Knowledge of Mathematics and/or Robotics
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Focus on quality (accurate & whole)
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Adaptability
  • Planning and organizing
  • Clear & timely communication skills
  • Teamwork

Travel:

Travel may be required for this position as the employee must be willing to travel to surrounding job sites. F&B will compensate a per diem for travel and overnight stay if applicable.

Work Environment:

As a Surveyor, you will be subject to various work environments. Environments include but are not limited to the following: high/low temperatures, areas close to traffic, loud and frequent noises, confined spaces, heights, indoor/outdoor settings.
