Overview

Under manager supervision the Maintenance Technician I is responsible for a wide range of daily duties including inspection, maintenance, and repair of Vehicles equipment and systems and documentation of such tasks; all while maintaining safety, productivity and financial responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment, and ensures schedules are adhered to and documented.
• Monitors equipment for unusual sounds to detect malfunction.
• Troubleshoots and repairs vehicles.
• Assists in maintaining spare parts inventory for vehicles.
• Mig and Stick Welding ability
• Able to repair or rebuild defective or broken parts
• Safe use and familiarity of all types of hand, pneumatic, diagnostic and power tools
• Dismantles defective equipment and installs new or repaired parts for vehicles.
• Follows safety rules & procedures including OSHA standards and the Company Process Safety Management program.
• Performs and records periodic testing.
• Maintains a clear sense of priority and focus in support of team performance.
• Identifies improvements in the process’s equipment.
• Assists leadership with problem resolution and correction of equipment deficiencies.
• Constantly considers long term upgrades / repairs.
• Additional tasks as assigned.
• Performs Bobtail reloading

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical training / Diesel Mechanic Certification
• 1-year maintenance / mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge, trouble shooting and repairs of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to effectively multi-task.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated track record of being a reliable and dependable worker.
