General Summary:

The Felician Sisters of North America are a Felician Franciscan community of Sisters with central convents throughout North America. Our health services team provides high-quality, clinical care for our Sisters, many of whom are aging in place in their convent homes, similar to a long-term care facility. Our Nurse Aides / Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs) provide direct care to residents which include assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, dining, transporting and restorative care. These positions are responsible for documenting resident care as required.
Responsibilities:

• Exhibits behavior that supports a person-centered culture of care where resident has a voice and a share in decision making regarding plan of care.
• Provides general care to residents including bathing, dressing and personal hygiene.
• Makes beds and organizes resident’s room.
• Assists residents to and from the restroom and provides assistance as necessary.
• Provides assistance to residents while dining to ensure proper nourishment.
• Observes residents for physical and psychosocial needs, attitudes, reactions and appetite changes.
• Documents necessary information reflecting resident care.
• Performs resident transfers with assistive devices within proper guidelines and scope of practice.
• Prepares residents for appointments and assists in scheduling transportation as needed.
• Assists with health care services such as: admitting, transferring, discharging residents; taking temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weights and measurements, measuring and recording intake and output; collecting specimens such as urine or stool.
• Performs assigned duties under the direction of the licensed Nurse.
• Performs specific technical procedures in accordance with standards of practice.

Education and Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Current or lapsed Certified Nurse Aide certification preferred but not required.
• Long-term resident care or home care experience preferred.
