General Summary….

The IT Solutions Architect works at the business unit level developing the solution architecture for significant initiatives in partnership with key business and IT stakeholders. Expose current state architecture and identify options for future state architecture. Works closely with business and IT stakeholders creating solutions that balance competing interests and concerns. Develop plans for and facilitate the migration from current to selected future state by providing technical leadership to multiple initiatives.

This position will be responsible for…..

  • Designs the architecture for Cloud Computing Systems (Microservices, APIs, Containers, etc.)
  • Develops detail technical design documentation including Sequence Diagrams, Class Diagrams, etc.
  • Participate in technology evaluation requests and recommend the solution aligns with enterprise strategy
  • Ensures that the solution meets all non-functional requirements like Security, Scalability, Reliability, etc.
  • Assist with establishing key architecture standards, tools, best practices, and methodologies to enable the Company’s target state and enable its architecture evolution and alignment across the organization.
  • Focus on the long-term architecture and strategy for the SOA services and solutions that enable operations.
  • Work with the solutions architects to expand shared application and data service creation and consumption across solutions.
  • Work across teams to drive solutions to problems with high system interdependency.
  • Oversee the architecture for development of cross-functional, multi-platform systems.
  • Promote the appropriate architecture and design principles and patterns to be leveraged for every technology enabled solution.
  • Document system architecture and define application components, platforms, interfaces, and development tools.
  • Define, champion and govern business architecture standards, tools, best practices, and development methodologies.
  • Provide technical guidance to application development teams, consult on integration and conversion issues and participate in mapping technology-independent application architecture to the chosen technology platform.
  • Have an “EA perspective” and collaborate regularly with other OpCo’s architects to ensure solutions align with enterprise direction.
  • Lead domain visioning roadmaps, ensuring alignment with the strategic direction of the enterprise and domain.
  • Identify strategic and tactical solutions and be able to influence and negotiate with colleagues and business partners.
  • Analyze business requirements and develop functional/system specifications.
  • Ensure high-value architecture and design artifacts for all solutions in domain areas.

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and 6- 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead change.
  • Experience with defining and implementing architecture principles and patterns. Knowledge of TOGAF is a plus.
  • Experience with WMS, SOA, Messaging, and database technologies.
  • Thorough understanding of established application design frameworks.
  • Working knowledge and experience developing large scale systems and real-time interfaces between heterogeneous systems.
  • Proven leadership and solid track record of prior enterprise projects.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment is a plus.
  • Project management, system analysis, and design experience is helpful.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills to all levels of management.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proactive, great attention to detail, results-oriented problem solver.
  • Ability to balance long term goals against concerns in the areas of code maintainability, developer productivity, and the customer experience.
  • Technical Stack: The candidate must have 6 years of work experience with hands-on on the below technologies.
  • Java Framework: Spring Framework (Spring Core, Spring Integration, Spring Cloud, Spring Data), JEE framework, JAX-RS, JAS-WS, JSON
  • Hands on experience with Cloud technologies is a must – OCI is preferred
  • Integration/Messaging technologies – preferably in IBM IIB/ACE, MQ, DataPower, CA API
  • Build Tools: Maven, Gradle
  • Database & ORM: Oracle, JPA, Hibernate
  • Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery: CloudBees Jenkins (Preferred) or Bamboo
  • Source Code Management: Git, SVN
  • Software Code Quality (Preferred): SonarQube, Findbugs, CheckStyle, PMD
