Position Summary

Federal Data Systems is looking for a Data Engineer who will perform end-to-end systems engineering for data flows from the perspective of data format modeling, 

data mapping, and support to implementers and mission customers. Conduct high-level data requirements analysis to support application of data standards across the enterprise. 

Essential Job Functions

• Coordinate across teams that leverage multiple development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc.
• Leverage information and knowledge sharing networks and navigating conflict in a way that fosters constructive outcomes.
• Integrate national and tactical data architectures into enterprise data representations or formats that can produce outputs to support multiple system architectures. This includes systems and data architecture and integration, data modeling, and data mapping in direct support of enterprise technology leadership.
• Maintain awareness of commercial data standards and community data standardization activities.
• Utilize corporate architecture and tools, tools for data analysis, and modeling.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Due to the nature of this position and the information that employees will be required to access; U.S. Citizenship is required.
• A high school diploma or GED plus 6 -8 years of data engineering experience OR a Bachelor’s degree with 4-6 years of data engineering experience OR a Master’s degree or PhD may be substituted for two years of experience.
• Required Security Clearance: Position requires TS/SCI with CI Poly.
• Candidate must hve Agile, Scrum and/or Kanban experience.
• Candidate must have a broad range of knowledge including, but not limited to, information technology, requirements, technical architecture analysis, data flow diagrams, system architecture diagrams and an understanding of functional and system analysis.

Desired/Preferred Skills:

• Independent way of working as well as creativity, the ability to work in a team and a confident manner.

Working Conditions:

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Additional details on the precise hours will be informed to the candidate from the Program Manager/Hiring Manager.

Physical Requirements:

May be required to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.

Background Screening/Check/Investigation:

Successful Completion of a Background Screening/Check/Investigation will be required as a condition of hire.
