Federal Data Systems, Inc is Hiring a Data Analyst Near Annapolis Junction, MD

Position Summary

Federal Data Systems is looking for a Data Analyst to develop techniques and methods to gather data, research, and documentation for a variety of diverse and complex analysis and visualization projects. Support program managers by assisting with the development of automated analytical tools, creating dashboards related to analysis performed, and documenting best practices, while also participating in Data Governance and Data Stewards meetings supporting data assignments and activities. Maintain the data catalog to include the complete understanding of the data set, and leverage data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) to visualize and analyze organization data in support of metrics, trend analysis and other reports and projects.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist senior analysts with relational database models and/or large warehouses; identify, collect, ingest and process new data sets; collaborating within, between and across boundaries in data analytics projects.
  • Conduct data analysis to support mission operations and strategic planning while adhering to data policy implementation requirements.
  • Work independently to set and manage priorities when required; work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization to ensure project completion and on time delivery.
  • Communicate both orally and in writing, including the ability to produce clear and detailed documentation.
  • Provide critical thinking and analytical skills, ensure attention to detail in all facets of work.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Due to the nature of this position and the information that employees will be required to access; U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • A high school diploma or GED plus 6 -8 years of data engineering experience OR a Bachelor’s degree with 4-6 years of data analyst experience OR a Master’s degree or PhD may be substituted for two years of experience.
  • Required Security Clearance: Position requires TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly.
  • Candidate must have Tableau, Power BI experience.

  • Independent way of working as well as creativity, the ability to work in a team and a confident manner.

Working Conditions:

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Additional details on the precise hours will be informed to the candidate from the Program Manager/Hiring Manager.

Physical Requirements:

May be required to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.

Background Screening/Check/Investigation:

Successful Completion of a Background Screening/Check/Investigation will be required as a condition of hire.
