Job Summary

The Systems Administrator will perform both end-user technical support and back-office system administration tasks. He or she will serve as the tier 2 escalation contact for troubleshooting end-user hardware, software, and connectivity issues. End-user technical support will include phone and in-person support to users in the areas of e-mail, directories, standard Windows desktop applications, and commercial and custom applications. Back-office system administration tasks will include Windows Server administration, Microsoft365 administration, Cisco & Meraki network administration, Avaya VoIP telephony administration, and other infrastructure support functions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer end user technical support questions.
  • Provide application support on Microsoft365, including Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Provide operating system support on Windows 10, 11 and Mac OS.
  • Perform troubleshooting of personal computer hardware and software.
  • Perform troubleshooting and routine maintenance for desktop and network printers.
  • Perform server administration tasks in a VMWare virtualized server environment consisting of Dell physical servers, Nimble storages, and Dell EqualLogic storages.
  • Perform network administration tasks in a Cisco and Meraki network environment.
  • Perform routine administration tasks on Avaya IP Office VoIP phone system.
  • Perform routine administration on a variety of security hardware and software solutions (Watchguard).
  • Responsible for a high degree of end user satisfaction.
  • Prepare documentation on technical solutions.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • At least 5 years of professional Information Technology experience required.
  • Must be proficient with current Windows desktop and server operating systems.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products and Microsoft365 (Teams, SharePoint, PowerBI, …), and Windows Exchange Server configuration (Hybrid).
  • Experience with Azure Active Directory preferred.
  • A , Network , MCP, MCSE, CCNA certifications preferred.
  • Experience with VMware and storage area networks preferred.
  • Must be proficient with backup software (Veeam BR), and disaster recovery infrastructure and configuration.
  • Experience with Cisco switches, Meraki switches, routers, firewalls (Watchguard), and VoIP technology preferred. Must be proficient in troubleshooting techniques.
  • Must be able to follow corporate IT security and intellectual property guidelines.
  • Must be dependable and flexible with work schedule.
  • Must be well organized and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Must be able to deal tactfully with end users in both an office and manufacturing environment.
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

The employee must use problem-solving skills to formulate and apply appropriate courses of action for routine or familiar situations. The employee may be required to perform numerical operations including basic counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing or more complex quantitative calculations.
  • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is inside a central heat and air-conditioned office building. The noise level in the work environment is minimal.
