ROLE OVERVIEW 

The QA Automation Engineer will work closely with the QA Manager to build out our automation test suites across multiple applications, both externally and internally facing. You will mentor and coach other QA Engineers, and work with your peers to create scalable and performant test suites. You will coordinate with our DevOps team to add integration tests into our CD|CI pipelines. Together with the rest of your team, you will lead the way in realizing our vision of robust continuous delivery pipelines backed by state-of-the-art automated integration test suites.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implementing and expanding our suite of automated testing and tools
• Verifying and validating systems and features from the ground-up
• Leveraging automation experience to ensure the highest quality of our products and test frameworks
• Designing and implementing automation
• Assisting with testing strategies, architecture design, and assessing the usability and continual improvement of our product to provide a remarkable user experience
• Developing scalable, maintainable automation to ensure confidence in software releases
• Identifying opportunities for automation within software processes to improve workflows and testing efficiency
• Working with the product manager and utilize requirements documents to create test plans
• Engaging in team meetings with engineering and product to stay informed on project status and automation needs
• Contributing to maintaining and expanding QA-developed tools and services
• Providing clear and detailed reports on test results, bugs, and potential systems enhancements
• Fostering a culture where bugs and mistakes in Production are treated as opportunities to improve the platform

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Five plus years of professional QA Automation experience
• Five plus years of experience implementing automation frameworks using tools such as Appium, WebdriverIO, Cypress and Selenium WebDriver
• Three plus years of experience with Java or similar object-oriented programming languages
• Fluent understanding of REST APIs
• Experience with SQL and performing database verifications
• Understanding of agile engineering processes that support the entire software development life cycle, including TDD|BDD, CI|CD and related build/test/deploy processes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
• Experience with Shopify or comparable cloud-based eCommerce solutions
• Experience with Order Management Systems
• Experience with NetSuite or other ERP|CRM solutions
• Experience with testing platforms such as Saucelabs, Browserstack, etcetera
• English, additional language(s) an advantage
• BA|BS degree or equivalent work experience.
