Shift: Swing

Purpose of The Position: The Warehouse Supervior is responsible for the safe, efficient, on-time delivery of product that meets or exceeds the expectations of our valued customers. This positon directly manages the production team and is expected to promote the Core Values of Farwest Steel and the goals and objectives set by the Branch Operations Manager.

Major Duties:

1. Responsible for managing staff including training/cross-training, and conducting initial and ongoing safety training.
2. Understands production performance metrics and monitors against goal accomplishment, including on-time delivery standards and quality measures.
3. Responsible for evaluating the performance of team members and providing frequent and timely feedback. Ensures all work and attendance meets established standards and guidelines.
4. Promotes a culture of continous improvement; enforce, evaluate, and make recommendations to improve Company Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
5. Monitors production demand/output and makes recommendations to adjust staffing to correspond.
6. Coordinates the production flow, reviews processing schedules and production orders daily to allocate resources accordingly.
7. Promotes safety awareness, accident investigation, and proper accident report submission.
8. Maintains housekeeping standards at a high level at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 3 years previous supervisory experience
• Experience with plasma tables, flame tables, lasers & saws
• Minimum 3 years of steel service center experience required.
• Prior experience in a steel distribution center is a plus.
• Ability to read production drawings. Competent in the use of MS Office and PC
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Abiity to perform basic mathematical computations
• Material handling equipment experience required. 
• Valid Driver’s License required.
