Family of Caring is Hiring a RN UNIT MANAGER Near Deptford, NJ

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Unit Manager functions at a professional nursing level using both Administrative leadership and clinical expertise to order to assure that comprehensive care and treatment is rendered to resident population, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team in design, implementation and evaulation of various programs within unit. 

  1. Assists the physician on rounds and ensures that pertinent information is communicated to and from him/her and orders are taken correctly.
  2. Participates in the training and supervision of nursing personnel.
  3. Utilizes effectively the general principles in the leadership role as a manager of an assigned unit.
  4. Manages conflict through effective problem-solving and communication skills.
  5. Acts calmly and efficiently in handling emergency situations.
  6. Prepares daily assignment of duties, treatments, and miscellaneous tasks.
  7. Assists with implementation of facility's Quality Improvement Program.
  8. Assumes responsibility for the identification of potential safety hazards and for the identification of noncompliance with facility guidelines as set forth in the Policy and Procedure Manuals;
  9. Maintains accurate resident care records and documents pertinent data reflecting the use of the nursing process.
  10. Attends and participates productively in the resident care meetings, staff meetings and in-services.
  11. Maintains active licensure.
  12. Attends all mandated in-services.
  13. Takes an active role in teaching (formal or informal presentation) with residents, families and staff.
  14. Assures that each resident's attending physician and family or responsible party are promptly notified of any significant change in the resident's health condition.
  15. Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
  16. Assumees responsibility for assuring daily staffing assignments.
  17. Performs additional duties as requested.

Specific Educational/Vocational Requirements:

Graduation from an Accredited school of nursing

Successful completion of experience in leadership for a minium of one year.

Current licensure by the NJ State Board of Examiners of Nurses.
