The Accounts Payable Analyst position performs all duties related to accounts payable. This individual is a subject matter expert in accounts payable and reconciliation. Manages and improves daily procedures and processes to create efficiencies for the AP team. (NOTE: Previous accounts payable experience required. This is primarily a remote/work from home role HOWEVER candidates MUST BE ABLE to work in the Madison, WI office at least a few times a month.)

Essential Job Functions:

• Receives, records, and arranges for payment of invoices and billing statements sent in by branch offices
• Researches past due balances and other issues related to accounts payable
• Pays recurring payables on time
• Cuts and mails checks daily
• Conduct month end reconciliations of general ledger accounts
• Enter payables into Accounting software
• Answer inquiries from employees, managers and vendors regarding bill payments
• Performs in depth analysis and reporting for AP team
• Provide excellent customer service while working with external vendors and business stakeholders

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Solid knowledge and understanding of customer service and best practices
• Basic knowledge and understanding of accounting general ledgers and chart of accounts

Required Education/Experience:

• Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred
• 5 year accounts payable experience preferred
• Demonstrated experience with attention to detail, written and oral communication, multi-tasking, and working in a team atmosphere adhering to strict deadlines
• Advanced experience with MS Office software products and 10 key
• Demonstrated experience working with numbers in a mathematical formula
