Practice Description

M Health Fairview Lakes Medical Center seeks a Board Certified/Board Eligible Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their Hospitalist team. Hospitalists round on inpatients as well as provide consult services to colleagues in the hospital and take un-assigned patients from the Emergency Room.

Practice Details:

• Block schedule
• 50-50 mix of day and evening shifts
  • Day 6a-5p, evening 3p-1a
  • 1 in 4 weekends
• Easy access to imaging, lab, rehab, and all services at Fairview Lakes Medical Center
• 24 to 28 bed med/surg unit includes co-management of Orthopedic Surgery patients
• 10-bed ICU with average 2-5 critical care patients
• 3-bed ED observation unit
• Hospital consults available 7 days/wk from General, Ortho and OB/GYN Surgeons
• Specialty consultation services available weekdays from Cardiology, Infectious Disease, Hem/Onc, Palliative Care, Urology, and Neurology
• Telephone specialty consultation available anytime from the University of Minnesota Medical Center and UMP Heart community Cardiologists
• We have a fully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC)

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• BC/BE through NCCPA
• Licensed or ability to obtain a PA license with prescriptive authority through the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
• Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
• Inpatient experience strongly preferred
