Trissential is currently seeking a Quality Analyst to join our dynamic team in Milwaukee, WI (Remote).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for participating in and driving all efforts related to the testing of features and functionality within software releases, including but not limited to: requirements decomposition, test planning and execution, and defect management; ensuring that proper testing procedures and processes are followed across assigned projects
  • Creating and executing test plans for given sprint
  • Identify areas of gaps for test automation
  • Provides automation coaching, and training.
  • Ensure that the final product satisfies the product requirements and meet end-user expectations
  • Spot areas for improvement to enhance the product's efficiency and communicate them with the team

Essential Functions:

  • Evaluate and test new or modified software features and products prior to release
  • Prepare and design test plans and cases (of moderate and high complexity, covering multiple business functions and/or platforms) based on customer and software requirements and technical understanding of product architecture.
  • Ensure traceability of test cases to requirements.
  • Develop and execute test cases for both new and existing feature regression tests.
  • Execute manual and automated test cases according to documented test plans.
  • Verify accuracy of test results and document results.
  • Document defects in defect tracking system.
  • Perform re-tests to verify resolution of defects.
  • Reproduce, investigate, and debug software issues.
  • Develop and maintain project test deliverables in adherence to defined methodology.
  • Communicate updates to project team, project leads, supervisors and managers.
  • Manage testing tasks for assigned projects and lead/mentor testers on assigned projects.
  • Conduct/coordinate peer review of test artifacts.
  • Perform and participate in informal reviews and reviews of requirements, specifications, and other project artifacts, as requested.
  • Manage customer expectations regarding services and define work product and schedules with project managers and/or customers.
  • Leverage existing knowledge of business application architecture in project work.
  • Participate in and contribute to the definition of testing strategy, scope and approach for large complex projects that span multiple applications and/or platforms, including applications inside and outside of department’s system testing responsibility.
  • Create and maintain test cases of high complexity.
  • Participate in design reviews and other phases of development lifecycle to gather information necessary to create clear, concise, and reusable test cases.
  • Provide work estimates, in terms of time, resources, and volume.
  • Lead discussions and initiatives in process improvement for the group; manage test activities, involving multiple team members, for projects of high complexity; facilitate testing meetings.
  • Mentor and train teammates; provide informal and formal training sessions to staff.
  • Monitor and enforce policy, procedures, and standards within the testing organization.
  • Drive the evaluation of quality, based on departmental standards.
  • Lead the defect management process, including defect coordination, resolution, statistical reporting, and verification of defect resolution.
  • Create and foster a team environment and effectively engage team members in assigned projects.
  • Provide sign-off to acceptance of a project's business requirements.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration with 4 years of testing experience OR 6 years of testing experience.
  • Clear and concise verbal, written and interpersonal skills including the ability to work in teams.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with initiative and accountability.
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Experience with automated testing tools.
  • Experience with requirements review and manual test verification and results/metrics/KPI reporting or reporting software.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and accomplish multiple tasks, both as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to manage time while working on multiple projects
