Trissential is currently seeking a Program Manager to join our dynamic team in Houston, TX (Hybrid).

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

  • The Program Manager oversees the efficient management of several projects’ workflow, finances, and resources of assigned teams and aligns with project sponsor on the overall project scope and timeline.
  • You will be responsible for the execution and oversight of numerous projects and aligning financial and logistical expectations using timelines/schedules, budget tracking, and resource management SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • The position is responsible for senior executive engagement and reporting on the state and performance of initiatives.
  • Additionally, the position is responsible for oversight of the budget and financial management of the program portfolio.
  • The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and a proven ability to strategize and implement high-level program initiatives.
  • As a leader, you will have a strong talent for project coordination, team building and delegation while possessing a “Consultative Mindset.”

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:  

  • Align with various stakeholders on business and technology strategies and partner with global leaders to identify initiatives which can drive significant business value 
  • Drive program delivery by leading large, complex projects across the organization 
  • Prepare program level analysis and reporting of financial control, resource utilization, risk, change management, unplanned work, funding proposals, etc. Track cost and schedule status/performance and trend analysis. Highlight issues, conflicts, slippages, key milestone movements, etc. 
  • Compare planned versus actual/forecasted. Hold self and other deliverable owners accountable to the program objectives 
  • Lead review sessions with key stakeholders on program status, value delivery, risk, and proposal pipeline and development 
  • Participate in strategic planning for the program portfolio. Translate strategic goals and priorities into technical strategies and objectives
  • Support PMO activities. Establish, refine, share and extend project management best practices and tools usage. Collaborate with business, functions and other IT teams for adoption and monitor usage 
  • Drive adoption of agile principles to enable teams to deliver and manage products, services and capabilities across their life cycles
  • Partner with project sponsor, stakeholders and project teams to ensure project objectives, scope, budget, opportunities and risks are clear, understood, and all delivery plans are aligned and managed 
  • Manage program and project teams for optimal return-on-investment, and coordinate and delegate cross-project and cross-team initiatives to support the strategic direction of the client while managing budget, change and operating plans against established business goals/objectives 
  • Develop an evaluation methodology to assess program strengths and identify areas of improvement and lessons learned 
  • Lead and manage diverse team members to optimize productivity and engagement 
  • Ensure goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality and team member performance 
  • Ensure the program operates in accordance with client policies, standards, and governance practices 
  • Supervise and mentor Project Managers and Project Coordinators 
  • All other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

Specific Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Master’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience 
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred or equivalent work experience 
  • Experience in energy sector highly desirable including low carbon, biogas, and biofluids
  • Experience with both operational and transformational programs
  • Ability to be on site in Houston every 6-8 weeks as required
  • Experience establishing a PMO and partnering with an EPMO on standards and frameworks

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, especially Project, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint

  • An ability to multi-task (strong prioritization skills), with a sharp eye for detail

Experience

  • 10 years of professional experience as a Project Manager 
  • 5 years in an advanced management role (preference given to those with program management experience) 
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and delegate 
  • Proven success in operating in a fast-paced environment 
  • Experience in project management tools 
  • Outstanding working knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processes 
  • Experience with managing large-scale, cross-functional and global project teams 
  • Expert stakeholder management skills
