Exemplis is Hiring a Territory Sales Representative (DC/Maryland) Near Washington, DC

Salary Range: $ 73,160.00 - $141,706.00


Position Summary:

Exemplis, manufacturer of SitOnIt and IDEON seating, is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated sales representative for our Mid-Atlantic Sales Team. This position will be responsible for developing commercial, healthcare, government, and higher education business by building successful partnerships with our dealer network and marketing to both the A&D community and our end-users. This position requires potential candidates to reside in the Mid-Atlantic region (VA, DC or Maryland) and the personal ability and vehicle to support the transport of product samples.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Ability to support and partner with Dealer Sales Representatives to provide seating solution options to their clients. Includes providing product information, samples of the chairs, marketing materials to support the dealer sale.
  • Ability to call on end-user client independently of the dealer to communicate company’s value proposition and products to achieve sales. Understanding of vertical markets; higher education, government, and healthcare, along with their specific needs and nuances.
  • Calls on interior designers within A&D firms to provide company’s product solutions and build relationships through a variety of creative means including CEUs, events, lunch & learns, and one-on-one meetings to develop specifications and product preferences within the firm.
  • Actively participates in team-based selling activities.
  • Manages within assigned expense budget.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Qualifications, Skills and Education

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 years of related experience with demonstrated successful sales performance.
  • Excellent presentation skills and strong organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to collaborate and negotiate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Successful contract or capital goods selling experience, preferably including experience as a Dealer Direct Sales person.
  • Understanding and experience in selling into vertical markets (business, healthcare, education, and government).
  • Financially literate and possess business acumen.
  • Computer literate in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com CRM system to manage contacts, projects and provide forecasting.
  • Assertive self-starter with the self-confidence and ability to represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Ability to forge long-term relationships with customers/partners.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication ability with strong emphasis on listening.
  • Demonstrated high level of integrity and business ethics.
