Fleet Dispatch Sales

A freight broker serves as a liaison between shippers and carriers to secure transportation of goods. Freight brokers do marketing to attract new customers, pair customers with freight carriers, book orders and line carriers up for loading. Also known as freight delivery broker. The goal is to grow EXCL's footprint in the Pacific Northwest area with direct customer relationships with shippers and receivers requiring the movement of their freight.

In order to succeed in this role, the successful candidate will need:

- A deep understanding of the Logistics and Transportation Industry.

- Expectational presentation skills and the drive to achieve sales goals.

- A strong mastery of the core sales skills including Closing Skills, Prospecting Skills, Sales Planning, and Networking.

The main tasks associated with this position include:

- Manage, develop and maintain client relationships by developing effective ways to transport customers’ freight.

- Working in unison with the Operations Team to meet customers’ needs.

- Building and maintaining customer relationships, assessing client specific needs, promoting and selling LSI services, and maintaining sales goals and objectives.

- Actively lead and participate in multidisciplinary teams preparing RFP, Bid and Proposal documents.

- Various tasks relating to dispatch to ensure drivers are able to satisfy the requirements of clients.

- Work closely with the Sales Director to develop territorial sales strategies, pricing, on-boarding customers and managing the overall customer relationship.

- Update and maintain TMS Software.

- Work closely with the Marketing Team to ensure the effect focus upon target customers.

- Cold calling within geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.

- Prepare customer quotations and presentations.

- Provide monthly reporting, projections and targets to Director of Sales.

- Develop proposals in accordance to clients needs and expectations.

- Manage and evaluate optimum routes and route profitability.

- Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets

Qualifications

Experience: This individual must have at least 10 years of sales experience and at least 5 years experience within the Transportation Industry.

Education: Highschool diploma is required. A college degree within a business discipline or relevant field will be considered an asset.

- Demonstrated ability to lead a sales team.

- Solid negotiation and interpersonal skills.

- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $40,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Renton, WA 98057: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
