Evoke is seeking a Data Scientist Level I to join our team!

Responsibilities

• Identifying relevant data sources for business needs
• Collecting structured and unstructured data
• Sourcing missing data
• Organizing data into usable formats
• Building predictive models
• Building machine learning algorithms, features databases
• Enhancing the data collection process
• Processing, cleansing & verifying of data
• Analyzing data for trends and patterns and finding answers to specific questions
• Setting up data infrastructure, data catalogs
• Develop, implement, and maintain databases for features, machine learning algorithms
• Assess the quality of data and remove or clean data
• Generating information and insights from data sets and identifying trends and patterns
• Preparing reports for executive and project teams
• Create and manage visualization of data
• Mapping data sources: An understanding of where data is stored and maintained
• Defining logical integrative views of data: These views will draw together data from across the domains
• Some views will use a database of extracted data - others will bring together data in "near real-time."
• Documenting existing data movement: record how data movement is happening
• Coordinate efforts and foster consistency while documenting the frequency of movement, the source and destination of each step, how the data is transformed as it moves, and any aggregation or calculations

 Qualifications 

Requirements/Skills: 

• Strong mathematical & numeracy skills
• Intermediate understanding of databases such as SQL Server, Informix, and other Cloud solutions such as PostgreSQL, Redshift, Cloudera
• Understanding of reporting & data visualization tools such as OBIEE and Tableau.
• Understanding of website scripts such as XML, JavaScript, JSON
• Understanding of ETL framework and ETL tools including DataStage, Glue ETL 
• Proficiency in Python and other Machine learning services such as Amazon SageMaker
• Knowledge of Geospatial analytics
• Excellent analytical skills - the ability to identify trends, patterns, and insights from data
• Strong attention to detail
• Presentation skills – the ability to write and speak clearly to easily communicate complex ideas in a way that is easy to understand
• Problem-solving skills
• A good communicator with effective stakeholder management & conflict resolution skills

Required Education: 

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or relevant discipline. 

 Security Clearance:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance for this role.
