Licensed Vocational Nurse
Pay: $40 per hour
Job Type: Full- time
Location : Central Austin
Schedule: Various
LVNs needed for a 40 hour shift at a Youth Correctional facility. Experienced Nurses with knowledge of standard nursing and healthcare practices, adhering to all Federal, State, Local, County and nursing and healthcare laws and requirements.
Day to day job duties include:
- Patient care and treatment
- Assist other medical staff as required
- Administrative duties such as entering patient medical files and records in computer system
- Practice safety and infection control
- May assist in ADLs
Skills to have :
- Administering patient care with the use of medical instruments
- Taking vitals
- Administering CPR and First Aid
- Problem solving and decision making
- Great verbal and written communication
- Experience working with mental health patients
If you have the ability to:
- Work efficiently and independently as part of a team
- Exercise sound judgement and quick reactions to emergencies
- Work in a secure environment
- Enter data into the computer effectively and accurately
- Manage time and be a multitasker
**Current Texas or Multistate LVN license and BLS certification needed**
