Salary Range $64,000 - $83,000 annually

Evergreen Treatment Services (ETS) is a mission-driven nonprofit organization specializing in substance use treatment and homeless outreach services. ETS has been serving the Puget Sound region for nearly 50 years. Our work is organized into two areas: Clinic Services and REACH.

Our Clinic Services team provides medication, counseling, and treatment to more than 3,000 people with substance use disorder at three clinics in Seattle, Renton, and Lacey, Washington. REACH provides street-based social services for more than 4,000 people living outside or unstably housed, many of whom have had interactions with the criminal legal system. Many ETS participants have endured trauma and harm from broken and oppressive institutional systems that are often the root cause of their substance use. We strive to uplift the humanity and dignity of each person we serve as we walk alongside them on their journey to better their lives.

 This position provides technical support for ETS/REACH IT infrastructure: configures, administers, maintains and supports data center servers in production environment that serve mission critical applications; and manages VMware/Xen virtual environments. This position will manage Windows servers and Microsoft Active Directory domain including GPO, DNS, DHCP, etc. Additional responsibilities include network and server maintenance, backup/restore, disaster recovery, security, performance, and business continuity. The incumbent will work with REACH staff to develop technology solutions to empower REACH staff to serve our clients in the field.

Job Functions 

  • Provide day-to-day support for mission critical servers in production and development environments. 
  • Independently resolve issues escalated by Helpdesk Administrator or Helpdesk Technician. 
  • Ensure availability of network/servers and application up time in accordance with our IT policies. 
  • Perform system backups and recovery; maintain data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity. 
  • Work closely with REACH Operations Manager to meet REACH IT needs. 
  • Be the SME (Subject Matter Expert) and perform maintenance/upgrades for Microsoft server environments. 
  • Review diagnostics and assess the functionality and efficiency of IT systems. 
  • Manage IT projects, work with vendors, and communicate with stakeholders about project status. 
  • Manage and maintain our VMware/Xen virtual environments for all virtual machines. 
  • Review, validate, and deploy software update during applications rollout to production environment.
  • Support other IT staffs when they need to troubleshoot application issues that might be related to network/server backend.
  • Monitor network/server performance and tune network/server management systems as necessary.
  • Provide quality service, acting with integrity by responding in a timely manner, and letting staff know truthfully if you know how to fix the problem, or, if you don’t communicate immediately you will research the issue further and get back to them as soon as possible.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve tier 2 & tier 3 issues escalated by IT Helpdesk Technicians. 
  • If applicable, work closely with the Clinical Informatics team and the Database team to resolve EMR issues. Escalate EMR issues directly to the vendor, keeping the supervisor notified of any issues.
  • Prevent virus/malware infections (including intrusion by hackers or malicious software) in ETS system\network.
  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, phone systems, cell phones, software, and hardware. Respond to queries either in person, over the phone, or remotely via MS TEAMS or MS Endpoint Manager (Configuration Console) (previously SCCM). 
  • Document all IT procedures, systems, schedules, methods in the IT section of SP2020.
  • Maintain broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, techniques, issues, and approaches in area of expertise.

  • Maintain dispensary equipment: label printers, IVEK controllers and pumps, and computers controlling the dispensing station.
  • Review, validate, and deploy software update during applications rollout to production environment.
  • Coordinate IT expenses on IT credit card with the supervisor.
  • Work with supervisor to ensure all IT maintenance contract renewals are completed.
  • Support other IT staffs when they need to troubleshoot application issues that might be related to network/server backend.
  • Maintains broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, techniques, issues, and approaches in area of expertise.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of goals, work plans, performance measures and continuous improvement of service delivery to assist in attaining the program, department and/or organization’s initiatives, goals and strategies, and mission through a spirit of service, teamwork and respect.?
  • Work well with other employees, follow direction, and work well under pressure. 
  • Attend all required training and safety meetings; report all injuries and illnesses to supervisor immediately; complete and submit incident/accident reports as required; and follow all safety and health guidelines, practices, policies and procedures and actively support and participate in the Emergency Preparedness Program and tasks. 
  • Comply with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, ETS policies and procedures, including ETS Privacy, Security and Compliance policies and procedures, and the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA). 
  • Actively participate in Quality Improvement programs and activities; initiate Quality projects and/or process improvement to attain quality service delivery. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Education 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Microsoft certification (MCSE/MCSA) or equivalent required. 

Experience 

  • 3-5 years of hands on experience supporting servers/network in an enterprise environment. 
  • 3 years’ experience with domain controller (AD/GPO/DNS/DHCP). 
  • Experience with Dell/EMC storage, backup and antivirus systems, and Microsoft windows server (2012-2019) are required. 
  • 3 years’ hands on experience with VMware hosts installation and management. 

Preferred Experience  

  • Working knowledge of DELL computer hardware, MS Win 10 operating systems, and procedures. Working knowledge of common user computer software (MS Office suite and O365).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory architecture, Windows patching, virtualization, and SAN. 
  • Skilled with scripting language such as VB or Python a plus. 
  • Knowledge of network security architecture, performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery processes and procedures. 
  • Project management experience preferred.

Additional Requirements  

  • Possession of a valid Washington State Motor Vehicle Operator’s License is required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Travel between various ETS clinics in different geographical locations is required. 
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check. 
  • Proof of COVID vaccination. 

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret general business correspondence, policies and procedures, referral information, financial documentation and applicable government regulations.
  • Ability to write business letters, uncomplicated reports, instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from patients, staff, referral sources and the general public. 

Mathematical Skills and Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization may be limited. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule or diagram format. 
  • Basic math skills. 

Physical Requirements 

  • The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear; frequently required to stand, walk and kneel; occasionally to climb balance, or stoop; rarely to crouch or crawl. 
  • Weekly Outreach in inclement weather.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, color and peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
