Job Summary

The purpose of an Irrigation Tech is to inspect, audit, adjust and repair the systems to ensure they perform at maximum efficiency and conserve water within the community.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• None

Duties and Responsibilities

• Turns irrigation systems on and off via remote or manually.
• Repairs or replaces PVC pipe from 10’’ to ½’’-
• Repair or replace numerous types of control valves & isolation valves.
• Minor Maxi-Com component repair & troubleshooting.
• Program Rainbird ESP-MC controllers.
• Knowledge of 2-wire system.
• May assist in various maintenance activities as required.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities

• Good organizational and verbal skills.
• Ability to handle the rigors of the job effectively.
• Plumbing, carpentry, or electrical knowledge.
• Reliable transportation *

Must have the ability to perform moderate physical work and may be required to lift to 80 lbs., up to 30 lbs. frequently and up to 20 lbs. consistently. Perform activities such as bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping for up to 5 hours without sitting.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of related experience required.

Working Conditions

Works indoors and outdoors. Potential exposure to sharp and rapid equipment movement, sharp utensils, harmful chemicals, and or solvents if proper safety procedures are not followed.
