This Product Owner position is an individual contributor role to address Operations and Systems work associated with claims growth, the development and ongoing enhancement of new applications and other various topic areas requiring analysis, documentation and process design. As a member of the Everest Insurance® Claims Operations staff, the Product Owner will be dedicated to supporting the Claims organization, and its various Claims Transformation projects. The Program Owner will report to the Vice President of Claims Operations Essential Job Functions and Scope This position requires a hybrid skillset to successfully perform the essential job functions, which include but are not limited-to: Business process improvement Requirements elicitation, documentation and analysis Data analysis (issue identification, trend analysis, investigatory, forensic) Project and work stream leadership Organizational and meeting facilitation Complex problem-solving involving systems, data issues, process irregularities Product Owner Collaborate with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements Manage the product backlog and prioritizing them based on changing requirements Oversee all stages of product creation including design and development Develop user stories, prioritize and sequence stories to enhance business value delivered while maintaining a sustainable pace for the team Work with Product Management Team to ensure vision, goals, and objectives are established and achieved Make critical decisions regarding functionality and priority for the team with a focus on delivering value Liaise with the product team and end-users to deliver updates Participate in Scrum meetings and team Agile Ceremonies Process Design Management Analyze workflow and process, complex data and make good decisions that positively impact outcomes. Develop and facilitate the improvement of Claims operational processes throughout the claim lifecycle, including interfaces and interdependencies with underwriting and stakeholders. Identify and drive process improvements across Everest Insurance® Claims platform. System Design and Implementation Provide team leadership, analysis and documentation in support of Claims systems in terms of business strategy, requirements, and acceptance testing. Close alignment with and management of technology resources throughout the process is required. Involvement in post-delivery enhancement also required. Support of design, requirements development, and implementation of technology tools. Qualifications, Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or related work experience Certified in Scaled Agile - SAFe® Product Owner (PO/PM) desired but not required Property and casualty insurer and Claims-related experience are desired, but not essential Previous project, program management and/or team leadership desired, but not an absolute prerequisite Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: Experience serving in an analytical role such as business or system analysis Process improvement oriented, ability to drive/manage change Ability to stay focused and deliver end-to-end Leadership, influencing, and multitasking must be strengths Issue resolution, problem solving, and creativity Strong organizational and task completion skills Ability to articulate and clearly communicate complex problems and solutions in a simple and logical manner Excellent work ethic Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a positive attitude Excellent customer service skills, including follow-through on and communication about action items, task completion and/or issues which remain unresolved Ability to work well in a professional, team-oriented environment Excellent critical thinking and communication skills Computer proficiency in Jira and Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint Everest is committed to recruiting and retaining the most talented individuals in the industry.
