Ethos Veterinary Health is Hiring a Director of Operations Near Honolulu, HI

We are seeking a Director of Operations who will have the opportunity to utilize their leadership skills at our brand new state-of-the-art veterinary facility, Veterinary Emergency Referral Center of Hawaii (VERC). VERC is an advanced 24-hour veterinary emergency and specialty hospital. Our dedicated board-certified specialists and highly-trained emergency professionals provide a collaborative approach to veterinary medicine. Supported by our newly built, 17,250 square foot state-of-the-art facility and advanced diagnostic equipment including ultrasound, endoscopy, digital radiography, 128-slice CT scan, the state’s first veterinary MRI, fluoroscopy, and in-house laboratory, we offer the most comprehensive and progressive patient care on the Hawaiian Islands. Our exceptional staff includes specialists in critical care, internal medicine, neurology, surgery, oncology, and radiology, as well as experienced emergency veterinarians.

We are seeking an experienced operations leader that can bring their talent to our fast-paced, challenging and supportive environment!

Primary responsibilities of the Director of Operations include:

  • Accountable for the daily operations of the hospital in support of policies, goals and objectives of the company.
  • Facilitate and ensure proper communication and information flow with national teams, hospital departments and shifts.
  • Work with national and regional leadership to develop and implement a strategic plan for the hospital.
  • Responsible for profit and loss (P&L) management of the business with direct influence on how resources are allocated.
  • Evaluate financial and benchmarking information and measurements to ensure best management of the business and achievement of business goals.
  • Participate in the budget process and manage hospital expenses.
  • Encourage and build mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members incorporating the company’s vision, mission and core values.
  • Accountable for client and referring veterinarian satisfaction.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:

  • Candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree and 7 plus years of business and people leadership experience. Veterinary industry experience is not required, but a comfort level working within a clinical setting will be necessary.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to develop employees, be a problem solver, outstanding communicator, and have the ability to maintain a positive working atmosphere that supports an exceptional client experience.
  • Recent experience in hands-on operations position may help a candidate to be successful in this role. Prior experience in hospitality management or retail operations will make the operations manager successful.
