Estron Chemical is Hiring a Senior Process Engineer Near Calvert, KY

Estron Chemical requires a Senior Process Engineer at our Calvert City, KY manufacturing plant.

Summary

Develop processes, procedures, and documentation to drive operational excellence. Play a key role in development by working closely with Production management to ensure safe, environmentally compliant, and efficient operation of batch chemical manufacturing. Perform duties as assigned in Maintenance and Project Engineering.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day troubleshooting to identify and correct problems with chemical manufacturing processes
  • Develop procedures to be employed by workers operating chemical manufacturing equipment
  • Design and configure systems to control chemical processes utilizing DCS, PLC, single loop, and manual control
  • Evaluate chemical equipment and processes to identify ways to optimize performance and to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
  • Perform tests and monitor performance of processes throughout stages of production to determine degree of control over variables such as temperature, flow rate, pressure, and other reaction parameters
  • Design and plan layout of equipment and other Project Management duties as assigned
  • Develop new and improved chemical manufacturing processes
  • Design manufacturing requirements for chemical processes based on data collected in laboratory experiments and in pilot plant operations
  • Perform duties as assigned to maintain Quality Management and Process Safety Management compliance
  • Service priorities in safety, environmental, and quality efforts
  • Train and develop operations personnel to ensure safe and reliable unit operations

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Minimum BS in Chemical Engineering, MS preferred 
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of batch chemical manufacturing
  • Wide knowledge in control system specification, configuration, and operation
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Experience with Process Hazard Analysis tools
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and email
  • Strong verbal communications, highly skilled in written communications
