Estate Planning Legal Assistant

About You

You have a minimum of two years of experience in a law firm and estate planning is preferred. You have a very strong attention to detail and process and bring enthusiasm to the office and with our clients. A strong desire to learn and motivation to make a positive impact on our clients and the firm will serve you well. You enjoy interacting with clients on the phone as well as in person. You enjoy working independently as well as part of a team.

Your duties include but are not limited to:

  • Drafting and proofreading Trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorney, and other legal documents
  • Managing, organizing, and maintaining documents in paper or electronic filing systems
  • Engaging and communicating with clients via phone, email, and face-to-face meetings
  • Demonstrating and explaining solutions and documents to clients
  • Serving as a witness and the signing of multiple documents daily
  • Contributing to all aspects of successful and thorough closing of client files
  • Providing general administrative assistance, such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, sending correspondence, and copying documents

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • 2 years of experience as an administrative assistant (preferably in a law firm), legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal
  • Have a current Texas Notary Commission or be willing to apply for one
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of WealthCounsel - an automated drafting system - a plus
  • Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and keep deadlines
  • Background check will be conducted

Salary: $40-50,000/year, commensurate with experience plus bonuses*
