ESSEX WESTFORD SCHOOL DISTRICT is Hiring a SCIENCE TEACHER Near Junction, VT

Essex Westford School District is in search of a full-time Science Teacher for Essex High School, beginning in the 2023/2024 school year. EWSD is pursuing candidates with a deep understanding of best practices, solid content knowledge, and a commitment to collaborate in a professional learning community focused on helping all students. EHS is particularly interested in candidates with extensive knowledge in the physical sciences and robotics.
EWSD is committed to considering out-of-state candidates who are eligible to hold a Vermont educator license but do not yet hold a license in this state. Candidates with experience working in another country and the ability to speak more than one language fluently, peace corp. experience, and/or otherworldly experience are encouraged to apply to help contribute to a diversity of thinking and grow our organizational practices.
Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:
  • Is eligible to hold or holds a valid VT Educator license with the applicable science endorsement.
  • Commitment to ensuring equitable access to learning for all students.
  • Uses standards-based learning practices with a PLC group and can give academic intervention for students who need additional help.
  • Commitment to proficiency-based assessment and learning.
  • Provides quality formative assessment feedback to students and can adjust instruction based on assessment results.
  • Understanding of the importance of social-emotional learning to the success of our students.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and expertise in content and pedagogy.
  • Expertise in incorporating technology into the classroom.
  • Can engage, apply, and align with Next Generation Science Standards.
  • Commitment to the development and implementation of Personalized Learning Plans.
  • Dedication to providing students with a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Strong organizational, planning, written and oral communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement in the areas of knowledge and professional practice.
