Enterprise Solutions and Management (ESM) is a rapidly growing government contractor that provides strategic IT services that meet mission needs for Defense and Federal customers. We are hiring a Network Administrator - Intermediate for an exciting opportunity located in Hurlburt Field, FL.

Job Description and Responsibilities

The Network Administrator for 1st Special Operations Group (1 SOMDG) Information Management / Information Technology (IM/IT) Services Support At Hurlburt Field Florida is responsible for providing planning, analysis, troubleshooting, integration, installation, operations, system assistance, documentation, and systems administration services for facility specific data networks, including LAN, Wide Area Networks (WAN), Non- Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET), Medical Community-of-Interest (Med-COI), client-server, and internet access for the 1 SOMDG LAN.

The Network Administrator will provide medical network and systems administration of the 1 SOMDG LAN, including network infrastructure hardware (hubs, routers, switches, terminal servers, file and printer servers, remote access and modem servers, wireless access points, and internal/external gateway platforms). Analyze and define network requirements; configure and optimize network servers; monitor network capacity and performance; diagnose and resolve network problems; develop network backup and recovery procedures; manage the installation and integration of system fixes, updates and enhancements; and install, test, maintain, and upgrade network operating system software.

The position requires excellent customer service skills and technical ability. Experience operating in a Government or Military culture is preferred.

Employees are required to work from the Hurlburt Field, FL military installation. Core duty hours include an 8hr work day spanning weekdays 0700 to 1700 with the office closed on Federal holidays and at times due to inclement weather conditions.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)

  • Provide network infrastructure troubleshooting and problem resolution assistance on client-owned and operated Cisco switches
  • Provide medical network and systems administration of the 1 SOMDG LAN, including network infrastructure hardware (hubs, routers, switches, terminal servers, remote access and modem servers, wireless access points, and internal/external gateway platforms). Analyze and define network requirements; configure and optimize network servers; monitor network capacity and performance; diagnose and resolve network problems; develop network backup and recovery procedures; manage the installation and integration of system fixes, updates and enhancements; and install, test, maintain, and upgrade network operating system software.
  • Manage medical wireless access points and assist Air Force Medical Services Agency with AOS upgrades.
  • Conduct electronic vulnerability assessments of systems and educate users on proper methods to properly secure systems utilizing phishing, social engineering, and other industry standard techniques.
  • Analyze and assess equipment and performance degradation, including determination of hardware, software, and/or other technical changes to meet operational requirements and make appropriate recommendations to the 1 SOMDG CIO
  • Perform research on system vulnerabilities, conduct system penetration analysis, monitor the supported networks to detect intrusions. Assist with developing automated tools to assist in the network monitoring, intrusion detection, and reaction to incidents.
  • Assist with the development of a Data Backup Plan (DBP), Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP), Emergency Mode Operations Plan (EMOP), Medical Continuity of Operations Plan (MCOOP), and Application and Data Criticality Analysis.
  • Provide minimum support for telephony requirements at 1 SOMDG. Assist 1 SOMDG TCO with physical retrieval of data on the handset and identifying phone movement needs with the customer. Coordinating with 1 SOCS to assist users with voicemail password resets, and assists with annual TCO phone inventory.
  • Provide leadership support as a senior member of the contract delivery team. Support the development of contract deliverables including Monthly Status Reports and Special Reports.

Desired KSA

  • Support backup storage and protection plan providing for backup capability and retrieval capabilities, security, and operational data storage for file and print servers
  • Track, log, complete, and follow up on trouble ticket requests within work order priorities
  • Conduct electronic vulnerability assessments of systems and educate users on proper methods to properly secure systems utilizing phishing, social engineering, and other industry standard techniques.
  • Analyze and assess equipment and performance degradation, including determination of hardware, software, and/or other technical changes to meet operational requirements and make appropriate recommendations to the 1 SOMDG CIO
  • Maintain network and active directory operations
  • Manage and administer user ID, passwords, security keys (public/private, unique), and domain addresses utilizing Microsoft Domain Management utilities.
  • Design and administer scripts and utilities used locally and wide to assist with LAN administration, process automation, application installations, Exchange/AD manipulation, and data collection. Manage and create logon scripts, data access, and Active Directory group policies customized for medical users and workstations
  • Manage and maintain the file and servers, workstations, operating systems and network application software
  • Install servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
  • Create, manage, and distribute SCCM/ACAS/Tanium collections, packages, advertisements, and reports for medical workstations and applications as needed
  • Conduct electronic vulnerability assessments of systems and websites
  • Provide computer security incident response support
  • Provide customers with support for updating/maintaining web pages to include graphics integral to the documents (SharePoint)
  • Be a positive, self-motivated, and proactive person with the ability to adapt to change and tolerate stressful situations
  • Candidate must communicate effectively with team members, team lead, management, and government customer
  • Must have the ability and desire to research and develop creative solutions to unique problems with minimal supervision

Minimum Training, Education, and Certifications

  • Minimum 5 years of IT experience supporting the following:
  • Experience supporting a DoD environment and applying DoD policies and best practices including implementing Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)
  • Experience in IT support including current Microsoft Windows Desktop, Server, Active Directory, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with Security Applications such as McAfee End Point security, Antivirus, Nessus Security Scan, SCCM.
  • National Agency Check or Entrance National Agency Check in accordance with DoD 5200.2-RMinimum
  • Maintain DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification compliance (eg: Security Plus CE Certification)
  • Desired but not required: Certification in relevant desktop/server Microsoft Operating System.

Physical Requirements

  • Required to stand, walk and sit; communicate verbally both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Physical demands associated with this position may include extensive walking (including stairs) throughout offices and between buildings. May require use of personal or Government vehicle to drive to local and/or remote office locations.
