ERL is Hiring a Quality Control Technician I Near Channelview, TX
This position assists with the Quality Control and Continuous Improvement efforts of the organization. Works with all disciplines at ERL Houston and occasionally other disciplines at ERL New Albany. Among other tasks, responsible for inspections and data collection of assigned areas. Effective internal communication (verbal and written) is important for this role.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs quality control inspections on incoming and outgoing shipments
- Collects daily and weekly production data for quality reporting, as assigned
- Escalates quality issues found by technicians
- Performs daily and weekly 5S audits
- Assists QC/CI in data collection and analysis for quality issues
- Assists QC/CI in LEAN and Continuous Improvement activities
- Under guidance, participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes
- Maintain / Modify procedures and quality documentation, as directed
- First article part inspections, random part/assembly audits and dimensional inspections on critical parts
- Other Duties as Assigned
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Required – Some College Preferred
- 0 - 1 years of related experience
- Ability to gauge priority and respond accordingly
- A track record of ethical behavior
- Attention to detail
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Analytical, problem solving and documentation skills
- Ability to learn to use quality control equipment (calipers, micrometers, CMM, gauges, test machines)
- Demonstrate effective teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
