Plans, directs and coordinates activities of designated technical and business projects, to ensure that goals are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Develops, manages and coordinates project plans of different degrees of complexity. Specifies goals, strategy, staffing, work breakdown, scheduling, budget, identification of risks, contingency plans and allotment of resources for each phase of the project. Formulates and defines scope and objectives of project for project personnel. JOB DUTIES Understands and applies principles, theories and concepts related to the profession and ERCOT's culture. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Impact is generally limited to specific assignments or projects. May respond to inquiries and/or provide assistance and/or guidance to lower level workers. ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES Level 1 Helps facilitate communication and documentation between Portfolio Management, IT Department and ERCOT business groups under direct supervision of the department manager or Sr. Program Specialist Assists in assessing and coordinating the impact analysis of proposed revision requests and system changes. May help report the status of program and project activities to members of management in order to enhance communication between ERCOT executives and customer stakeholders May attend market meetings as needed to report program and project status Assists in managing customer expectations regarding ERCOT delivery capabilities and timelines Helps build business knowledge and educate business and technical teams on project management processes Helps support project portfolio reporting mechanisms Level 2 - Above Facilitates communication and documentation between Portfolio Management, IT Department and ERCOT business groups Assesses and coordinates the impact analysis of proposed revision requests and system changes. Reports status of program and project activities to members of management in order to enhance communication between ERCOT executives and customer stakeholders Attend market meetings as needed to report program and project status Manage customer expectations regarding ERCOT delivery capabilities and timelines Helps build business knowledge and educate business and technical teams on project management processes Develop and support project portfolio reporting mechanisms EXPERIENCE Level 1 - No minimum work experience required Prefer minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible experience in project management Level 2 - Requires minimum 2 years job related work experience in excess of degree requirements EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree : Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (Required) Master's Degree : Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (Preferred) or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required CERTIFICATION PMP Project Management Professional (Preferred) PgMP Program Management Professional (Preferred) WORK LOCATION: The majority of job duties can be performed remotely from your Texas residence. May be required to be on-site at the Taylor or Austin facilities at least once a month, or more based on the business needs and as determined by the Manage Work arrangements are subject to business needs and are subject to change accordingly.
