Position: Forklift Operator

Location: Steptoe, WA

Target Pay: $17.00 to $20.00 /hour

Shift: 7am to start, then 5am-3:30pm once trained (some flexibility), potential to do 2nd shift

Principal Responsibilities:

A.) Follow outlined duties as assigned in daily inbound / outbound schedule from warehouse management.

B.) Maintain the principles of first in / first out (FIFO) in the storage and retrieval of materials.

C.) Coordinate with other lift truck drivers and production personnel to ensure the efficient performance of warehouse and production processes.

D.) Prioritize multiple tasks to maximize work efficiency.

E.) Sanitation duties as required in order to maintain a clean and safe environment.

F.) Accomplish other related work as required.

G.) Comply with all safety regulations.

H.) Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.

I.) Reports all accidents/injuries and unsafe conditions to location management.

J.) Maintains any logs as required.

K.) Attention to detail.

L.) Exhibits ability to consistently and accurately process verbal and/or written instructions and procedures

Education, Experience, Skills:

A.) High School diploma or equivalent; or up to three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

B.) Must demonstrate basic mathematical skills.

C.) Experience in a manufacturing environment, especially food production, is helpful.

D.) Must be qualified as a driver at Columbia Basin Blends.

E.) Ability to use a slip-sheeter is preferred.

F.) Ability to read and interpret documents such as formulas, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

G.) Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

H.) Ability to effectively communicate clearly in English commensurate with the requirements of this position.

I.) Must have a basic mechanical aptitude.

J.) Must be able to safely use a hand held knife.

K.) Loading and off-loading of trucks, receiving inbound ingredients, production driving and packaging driving.

L.) Regularly required to stand.

M.) Frequently is required to walk; use hands to handle and perform tasks with tools or equipment controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

N.) Occasionally required to climb on ladders or other supporting structures off of ground level.

0.) Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs (anything above that will be machine lifted or a buddy lift).

P.) Occasionally exposed to dusty conditions.

Q.) Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.

R.) Occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

S.) The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
