Equity Packaging, Inc. is Hiring a Packaging Engineer Near Minneapolis, MN
The Experienced Packaging Engineer will be a part of a team, working with cross functional team members including Product R&D, FSQ (food safety & quality), Engineering, Marketing and Operations The role is focused on the commercialization of different projects, primarily at ESC (external supply chain) locations. Work will involve both collaborating with ESC partners and working independently to develop packaging solutions for retail & e-commerce food products. Candidates must be local to or within daily commuting distance of the Twin Cities, MN area, or willing to relocate to the Twin Cities area for this opportunity.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Engineering, Material Science, or related field
3 years of Packaging development experience
Solid understanding of packaging materials and product commercialization process from packaging design through manufacturing
Ability to manage multiple projects independently in fast paced environment
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Self-directed, motivated and effective prioritization of work
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Lead packaging development for new product initiatives, in partnership with ESC (external supply chain) locations
Design all packaging with:
Knowledge of product/packaging interaction and results on product protection through shelf life
Knowledge of designing for distribution, channel, and customer requirements
Ability to understand and apply knowledge relative to material machine interaction in manufacturing facilities
Knowledge of packaging material testing for the purpose of specification creation and problem-solving
Proactively collaborate with and influence cross-functional partners, including manufacturing locations
Manage, influence, and document plant trials and start ups
Effectively partner with supplier and ESC resources against key initiatives, showing a bias for results
Provide effective communication and documentation of work including technical plans, specification creation/modification, experimental reports, and management updates
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Packaging development experience in the food industry
Experience with packaging focused systems, such as TOPS
Experience with packaging development in e-commerce
