EPMA is Hiring an IT Business Analyst Near Houston, TX

Full time opportunity with EPMA
Location : Houston TX 77027 (Need to be Onsite)- should be able to work in the EPMA office with frequent travel to Client site.
IT Business Analyst will assist the project team through the definition and documentation of the existing business processes and the desired business processes, based on the implementation of end user software. Using this information, the IT Business Analyst will work with project stakeholders to identify system gaps and barriers that might prevent or reduce the project’s success at delivering business value. In addition, the Business Analyst will coordinate the development of test and training plans to ensure that the business is able and ready to execute the future state business processes. The planning and execution of Organizational Change Management is critical to the success of the new system implementation. Following a project’s implementation, the Business Analyst may be called upon to gather and analyze information to determine if the processes are being executed effectively, as designed. The Business Analyst is a team player with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The Business analyst should demonstrate a strong desire for quality and attention to detail with excellent problem solving and organizational skills.

Primary Responsibilities and Actions:

  • Facilitate cross-functional client project teams to create current state and future state business process models
  • Work with appropriate business and IT staff to gather business process performance information
  • Work with business process owners to document business requirements
  • Perform gap analysis to determine the “As Is” and “To Be” process states that will be recognized when using the new system and achieving the business requirements
  • Work with business process owners to analyze and recommend improvements to business processes
  • Ensure that the desired business processes and the list of requirements complement and reflect each other
  • Develop testing approaches and test plans/scripts for verifying/validating that new or modified business processes work as designed
  • Test the entire, end-to-end, process, including manual steps and steps provided or supported by technology
  • Coordinate the testing of new business solutions
  • Assist with the creation training approach and plan for achieving the designed organizational change
  • Assist with the development of training materials and deliver training to appropriate end users
  • Assist the project manager with project planning, including the identification and estimation of business process activities needed to ensure the project is successful

Requirements:

  • 7 years of experience in IT project delivery & business analysis
  • Quickly understand the software system being implemented and the risk areas of implementation
  • Business Process Modeling experience - knowledge of standards and techniques for modeling current state and desired business processes
  • Business Process experience - ability to work with process owners and process participants to identify potential process improvements
  • Information Management experience - ability to work with the appropriate people to gather and consolidate data into information that is useful for understanding, describing, and improving business processes
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Solid organizational skills and understanding of project management processes
  • Strong knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
  • Self-starter able to drive towards goals and manage time effectively, while working closely with the project manager
  • Strong skills in interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
