Envoy Solutions is Hiring a Human Resources Manager Near Glenview, IL

Position Overview

The HR Manager acts as a partner and advisor to their local management team. This position will provide a wide range of HR support and general administrative support to the Glenview management team and employees.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Employee Relations - Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations issues and ensure that Corporate Human Resources is involved in all warranted issues. Attend local unemployment claim hearings, lead and conduct HR investigations (i.e. discrimination, harassment, wage and hour discrepancies, etc.). Ensure consistency of disciplinary documentation prior to delivery.
  • Distribution Center Communication - Communicate all Distribution Center level personnel changes via employee memos. This includes but is not limited to: HR Policies, Processes, etc.
  • Employee Files - Maintain employee personnel and medical files for the Distribution Center.
  • Onboarding/ Offboarding - Conduct New Hire Orientations and Exit Interviews. Report and address any critical information obtained during the exit interview as well as any observed trends with Regional Director of HR - Central.
  • Recruiting - Partner with Corporate Recruiting team to coordinate new hire paperwork and new hire orientations. Attend local job fairs with members of local management, assist with local outreach of truck driving schools, universities, community groups, diversity outreach, onsite interviews, etc.
  • Compensation Analytics - Utilize daily “Field Report” to analyze and address pay discrepancies. This includes reviewing merit increases and bonus recommendations, new hires and internal equity concerns, and wage adjustments.
  • Benefit Administration - Act as the local liaison between employees and our Centers of Excellence Benefits Department serving as a resource to answer all benefit- related questions. Host Open Enrollment meetings and assist employees with benefits enrollment.
  • Compliance - Ensure compliance with Envoy Solutions policies, EEO, FLSA, Federal and State Laws.
  • HRIS - Serve as the local HRIS expert and assist in training new and current employees on ADP Workforce Now.
  • Worker’s Compensation - Complete all facets of the workers comp claim process to include communication with insurance carrier and employee. Maintain OSHA 300 log and work closely with Regional Director of HR - Central and Directors of Operations to identify injury trends.
  • LOA/Reasonable Accommodation - Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable State and Federal requirements including but not limited to: FMLA, ADA, PLOA, Disability Insurance and Return to Work processes.
  • Performance Management - Assist management with the timely completion of annual performance evaluations. Generate and analyze reports to ensure submittal by established deadline.
  • Event Coordinating & Employee Recognition - Assist in planning employee and customer banquets and meetings including, but not limited to; holiday parties, sales banquets, vendor meetings, staff meetings and divisional “Employee of the Quarter” meetings.
  • Safety - Help coordinate Distribution Center safety initiatives with Warehouse Manager to identify injury trends and assist in future prevention.
  • Training & Development - Conduct various HR trainings and coaching sessions with management and staff on any of the above-mentioned subject areas.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3 years of Human Resources experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • PHR or HR Certificate Program preferred.
  • Knowledge of Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin and Federal Employment law including micro-region employment law (ie; City of Los Angeles) preferred
  • Union experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, HRIS and ATS database required.
  • Ability to retain confidential information required.
  • Superior judgment in complex and diverse situations.
  • Strong written, verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and complete multiple projects.
  • Ability to travel (5%).
