Position Overview

The Director of Procurement is responsible for planning, coordinating, and ensuring the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the purchasing process within Envoy Solutions. This involves setting purchasing policies, managing inventory, and overall management of purchasing processes.

Note: The Director of Procurement role may be performed Remotely.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop, communicate, and administer procurement team performance and development plans and appraisals.
  • Serve as the primary contact for procurement related questions, training, policy and procedure interpretation and alignment by all departments.
  • Manage current procurement policies, procedures, and programs with a focus on their ability to enhance organizational value and efficiency; meet regularly with respective departments regarding procurement for their understanding and/or recommendations to enhance policies, procedures and develop, communicate and implement new/revised policies, procedures and programs as needed.
  • Develop and implement procurement-related training programs for the procurement team and organization.
  • Recommend and implement processes to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations through identifying, troubleshooting, and managing the day-to-day processes.
  • Perform ongoing, forward looking, Inventory Planning and Management operations as defined by the organizational need to include replenish inventory, identify slow moving and aged products, supply, and demand planning, and assist in new product roll-out planning as appropriate.
  • Provide monthly and ad-hoc executive reports/status to Senior Management.
  • Provide management and leadership to personnel within the functional responsibilities of the department.
  • Improve quality results by evaluating and upgrading processes and directing changes.
  • Monitors and reports on key performance indicators. Identifies risks s and develops risk mitigation strategies. Ensure that Key Performance indicators are measured, and goals are attained.
  • Develop a high performing team and drive the team to continuously improve processes and attain higher levels of customer satisfaction while understanding how the group’s performance impacts the company’s bottom line.
  • Use sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products, lines, or services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends.
  • Evaluate and refine corporate policies and procedures that pertain to procurement to ensure that all functions are carried out ethically, efficiently, and professionally at all locations.
  • Continuously monitor procurement systems and strive to identify ways to improve process.
  • Develop key inventory management reports as needed or requested.
  • Coordinate, plan, and design material for and host annual conference.
  • Drive to implement vendor synergies identified by Envoy’s Category team across business units by coordinating, planning, and executing programs to the procurement teams.
  • The Director of Procurement ensures results/savings are delivered.
  • Be the central coordination and escalation point for all procurement issues with your area of responsibilities, you will have direct responsibility to coordinate and manage the activities of the procurement work-stream along with Envoy’s Category and Procurement leadership.
  • Leads development and execution of projects for procurement.
  • Leads development and execution of a detailed communication plan addressing supplier concerns.
  • Meaningful communication to employees and stakeholders.
  • Deal with uncertainty. Needs to balance the need for certainty with the need for action. Need to be comfortable with complexity and ambiguity and willing to make difficult decisions without complete information.
  • Needs to appreciate (organizational) cultural differences and different management practices, utilize optimum change management methods, and define way forward as part of Envoy.
  • Bridge and various business units with applicable resources within Envoy Solutions Procurement team.

  • Solid procurement knowledge and experience.
  • Willingness to continually seek additional education to increase knowledge within the industry.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive experience in inventory management and purchasing.
  • Foodservice Category experience, strongly preferred.
