Envita Medical Center is Hiring an Assistant Nurse Manager Near Scottsdale, AZ

Job Title: Assistant Nurse Manager

Location: Scottsdale, AZ (East Bell Road and the 101)

Salary: Depending on Experience

Employment Type: Full Time with Benefits (Medical, Life, Dental, Vision and 401k)

Schedule: 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (No nights, no weekends, and no major holidays!)

Position Overview:

The Assistant Nurse Managers are responsible for the daily operations of their team and the department. They may be assigned a combination of Clinical Nurses, Oversight Nurses, Medical Assistants, and specialty departments such as GTF/IRAD or Apheresis. Their job is to evaluate and confirm that the IV care or therapies that are given are accurate and administered safely to our patients. They are also responsible for assisting Clinical Nurses during emergency situations, maintaining a good work environment, and creating a healing environment for the patients. The Assistant Nurse Managers are also responsible to help create and maintain a positive work culture. The Assistant Nurse Manager position will report directly to the Nurse Manager. 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee emergency situations, direct staff through proper steps and review chart notes for the situation
  • Verify and oversee all Daily Checklists
  • Assist with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development
  • Fill out staff incident reports and create action plans to avoid further occurrences
  • Oversee training program. Sign-off on the training checklist and oversee trainer and trainee during the training process
  • Audit Nurse’s chart notes and provide improvement feedback as needed
  • Collaborate with Nurse Manager to develop processes and procedures to improve the nursing department
  • Oversee specialized departments such as GTF/IRAD or Apheresis and lead team meetings
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings including updates to medications, processes, SOPs and changes in department.
  • Handle employee conflicts. Give corrective action when needed
  • Address concerns or questions about processes with medical staff
  • Participate in nursing interviews, training, and educating staff
  • Conduct staff one-on-ones to address issues, give positive/improvement feedback, and hold team accountable
  • Handle patient concerns such as outside referrals and other patient issues
  • Meet with new patients during their first week of treatment
  • Assist with patient care when necessary
  • Responsible for the general safety and well-being of patients and employees
  • Be point-of-contact for the nursing department with the pharmacy staff to help resolve issues or problems that occur.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of leadership experience required
  • Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment
  • High level customer service is a must
  • Must be a self-starter and have a great work ethic
  • Must have an ownership spirit who wants to excel at their position
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately in a timely manner
  • Must be able to speak professionally and communicate effectively at all times
