POSITION SUMMARY

The Development Officer is responsible for aiding in the development and ensuring implementation of the development strategy of the Envision Foundation. The primary function of this this role is to cultivate, solicit and steward prospective donors through individual outreach.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE

  • Broaden the base of donors and secure financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
  • Work with Executive Director to identify prospects for major gift solicitations.
  • Responsible for maintaining ongoing documentation of prospect strategies, contacts, visits, pledges, and gifts received with accuracy within Raisers Edge.
  • Provide support to the Executive Director in developing strategies, SOPs and KPIs that positively impact and/or improve the Foundation output and viability.
  • Participate in planning yearly calendar of cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and recognition activities for donors.
  • Collaborate as needed to write copy for letters, collateral material, reports, and other items as necessary.
  • Aid in the execution of the annual fundraising plan including individual giving, grant development, direct mail, special events and employee giving, this position will:
    • Develop and implement a grant development plan involving foundations and corporations, coordinating with FMS Directors and the grant development contractor. 
    • ​​​​​Develop and implement new donor acquisition strategy
    • Develop and implement the annual employee giving program
  • Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years proven experience in fund raising/development.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to:
  • Work independently, conceptualizing and executing projects
  • Interact effectively with employees at all levels as well as the general public.
  • Work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
  • Handle sensitive or confidential communications in a professional manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport with donors, volunteers, and the public with diplomacy and customer-service orientation.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of donor database management systems (i.e., Raisers Edge).
