What you will do...

As the Environmental Health & Safety Manager, you will work across the organization as integral part of the Envision team. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will lead and serve as the primary technical resource for the management of the company environmental, health, safety and industrial hygiene company program.

In the role of service provider, you will lead technical, scientific, and administrative resources in a comprehensive and coordinated response to health, safety, workers compensation and environmental regulations, laws and policies and will serve as the primary point-of-contact for environmental and industrial hygiene and safety issues for personnel across the Company.

Through development and implementation of strategic initiatives, providing practical, pragmatic, process-based recommendations and counsel, the EH&S Manager you will strengthen health, safety and environmental programs and continuously improve employee safety and achieve Company objectives.

In a typical day you will...

  • Confer with local regulatory agencies on local environmental quality standards, industrial practices, and new developments in pollution abatement.
  • Prepare environmental research project feasibility and progress reports; provide assistance to agencies conducting related environmental studies.
  • Conduct facility health and safety audits/assessments/analyses to identify and minimize health and safety risks. Identify and assess potential magnitude of risk (e.g. industrial hygiene, safety, regulatory, production feasibility and quality) and develop solutions.
  • Develop and implement industrial hygiene and/or safety processes to address weak areas identified by assessments and/or performance metrics system.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, applicable laws and regulations and company policies, procedures and standards.
  • Analyze data and continually improve measurement systems based on the use of leading metrics and near misses.
  • Develop, implement and/or maintain self-auditing programs (e.g., writing protocols, conducting training) for company facilities to use to identify potential health or safety risks.
  • Communicate company policies, procedures and standards; ensure employee compliance; provides direction and coaching to facility management and safety personnel.

What you will bring to the role...

  • BS Engineering, Safety, or Industrial Hygiene related discipline - required.
  • At least five years successful professional experience in managing an industrial hygiene and safety program at the corporate level of a manufacturing company - required.
  • Knowledge of technical practices and programs used in the reduction or elimination of workplace hazards. Includes knowledge of worker health and safety regulations as they relate to manufacturing, product distribution, and R&D.
  • Ability to design, develop, implement, and audit effective Industrial Hygiene/Safety Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of local, state or federal environmental, health and safety regulations. How to access resources (e.g., OSHA, EPA, L&I, regulatory agencies, consulting firms, web-based information) and evaluate resources applicable to facilities.
  • Knowledge of procedures used to anticipate, recognize, measure, evaluate and control physical, chemical, biological and ergonomic hazards.
  • Ability to interact with government officials to represent the company or industry while explaining complex scientific data, reports or issues.
  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving, managing for results and contributing to team success.
