Supervisory Responsibilities
Coordinate with supervisor on scheduled jobs
Gather/prepare materials, load truck for the day’s task
Enter team’s times into phone
Direct, assist, transport, & supervise your team during activities that may include installation of lawns & flower beds, installation of landscape lighting, cleaning up work sites, installation of water features, installation of masonry stone & pavers, installation of retaining walls
Assist with maintenance of seasonal services as needed, perform minor repairs & maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping
Duties/Responsibilities
Reads and conveys information from sets of blueprints
Manages and directs crew
Communicates in both Spanish and English
Demonstrates and teaches other crew members on correct plant and / or irrigation installation procedures
Ensure safety of crew and equipment operation
Efficiency and client standards are attained
Conducting site inspections, provide hands-on leadership, and provide guidance for soil, planting, watering, and insect control
Driving and maintaining vehicles, train personnel with a strong emphasis on safety, and handle schedules, and review charts and reports
Landscape and plant material installation, flowerbed cultivation, flowerbed design layout and prep, tree and shrub pruning and shearing
Standard landscape maintenance techniques required for mowing, trimming, mulching, pruning and clean-up
Remove loose trash and debris from landscape area before mowing
Remove weeds from sidewalks, curb lines, and mulch beds
Any other duties assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
Hold valid driver’s license and have clean driving history
Bilingual abilities (basic conversational English at minimum)
Literate - can read blueprints and other instructions in English
Minimum of two years tenure or equivalent from prior work experience
Work Authorized - United States (Required)
Must pass pre-employment drug testing
Hardworking with a stable track record
Good knowledge of plant material, and horticultural practices
Knowledge of safe operation of landscape and maintenance equipment
Able to follow directions
Works well in a crew/team environment
Excellent customer service skills
Education and Experience
HS Diploma or equivalent
2 Years plus of landscape install experience
1-year (minimum) experience managing 2 person crew
At least one year of experience in lawn care and landscaping a must; supervisory experience desired
While not mandatory, it would be great if you also have
Driver’s license and good record, strong leadership, and familiarity with the techniques and equipment used in landscaping.
CDL
Reliable transportation
Experience running equipment (skid steer, excavator, backhoe, etc)
Able to read architectural drawings
