The Role

As part of Entegris’ Manufacturing Operations team, the Training Specialist will work closely with the front-line supervisors to help ensure our employees have the training they need to be successful.  The Training Specialist will update our training program and ensure we are using best-in-class practices.  They will drive the implementation of systems that will ensure our labor is fully capable in regard to safety, quality and productivity.  They will be responsible for ensuring the system can clearly articulate depth of coverage and any business continuity risks associated with training and effectively mitigate those risks through appropriate cross training.  The training specialist would also be expected to define what resources are needed to have an effective training program and to drive bringing those resources in to execute the plan.

In this role you will

  • Build on existing systems (i.e., ETQ) to create a world class training organization to ensure the current labor force is running at peak performance
  • Assess resources needed for training organization and effectively on-board those resources, both in terms of personnel and/or third-party resources
  • Work with the site Training Manager, Human Resources, and department supervisors to identify training requirements and institute plans for training new and existing employees
  • Manage and track training requirements in support of manufacturing needs
  • Maintain updates to the curriculum database and training records
  • Monitor and report training compliance and effectiveness to management
  • Develop and apply cross training matrix to ensure labor supports business continuity
  • Coordinate any training required as a result of new product release from R&D
  • Transition written and pictorial SOP’s (Standards of Procedure) to a digital, interactive training platform

Traits we believe make a strong candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; High school diploma OR at least 7 years experience in a manufacturing training role
  • Previous experience building up programs or teams, specifically around training
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs
  • Proficient in learning new software systems and being able to train others
  • Familiarity with industry best practices and standards
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience in working in an ISO 9000/14000 environment a plus
  • Astute attention to detail to drive Safety and Quality
  • Ability to understand and develop metrics to validate training performance
  • Ability to perform visual checks and handle materials responsibly while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Able to read and write the English language
