The Role

Entegris is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design or Mechanical ProcessEngineering Co-Op who thrives in a fast-paced environment where safety, quality and continuous improvement are paramount.

In this critical role, the Mechanical Engineer Co-Op is a key contributor on a dynamic new product development team responsible for developing new, high purity, solid precursor delivery systems and containers for advanced node chemistries for the semiconductor industry. The ideal candidate will be working towards a degree in mechanicalengineering andwill exhibit the an aptitude to work in semi-conductor industry. Also, theability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, continuous improvement environment focused on safety, quality, and equipment reliability.

This position will work cross-functionally with a diverse team of engineers, chemists, and product marketing managers. The position requires working closely with other new product engineering resources and equipment to collectively succeed and deliver superior products and solutions.

This job opportunity is in our Burnet, TX facility, one hour outside vibrant Austin, TX.

In this role you will

  • Design, build, and test prototype Stainless Steel delivery components and sub-systems for semiconductor Deposition tools.
  • Work on best practice temperature controls for both cold and hot components.
  • Continuous improvement on temperature uniformity for high temperature components.
  • Integrate medium vacuum systems, vacuum pumps, and instrumentation.
  • Understand material of construction and compatibility with various chemistries.
  • Work safely and drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Work with development chemists to learn current manufacturing processes for current and future solid precursors.
  • Listen actively and solve problems in a structured manner.
  • Deal with change while managing ambiguity to deliver business results.
  • Manage change through cross-functional partnering in a global environment.

Traits we believe make a strong candidate

  • Actively working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar technical field or related experience is required.
  • A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills necessary to deliver technical presentations in support of product proposals and engineering design reviews.
  • Ability to work independently with the mentoring of senior engineers in multiple disciplines.
  • Travel, both domestically and internationally, may be required to effectively fulfill the position responsibilities.
  • Accessible by laptop computer and cell phone for occasional use during off hours.
