We are looking for a Production Support Specialist to join our Millwork team in Chaska, MN. In this role, you will work closely with the Millwork Production Manager and Supervisor to support the prototyping process, ensuring quick turn and proper construction to ensure production safety and readiness. You will also assist the production leads with any machinery setup and process training needed to execute on production jobs.

Shift Available: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

A variety of these traits will help land you this job. If you have:

  • a High School Diploma or GED
  • a 2-year technical or trade school with a relevant degree preferred
  • 7 or more years experience in a millwork setting setting up and running machinery

On top of that you must:

  • have significant experience with a multitude of wood joinery methods and their applications
  • demonstrate knowledge of Wood Production tools and machinery, particularly their safe and proper use, function, and application
  • be well-versed in understanding wood species and substrates and their use in structural and aesthetic situations
  • have knowledge of wood finishes, including paints, stains and clear topcoats
  • be able to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • posses strong communication skills that support excellent collaboration with a variety of work groups that can have varying degrees of experience in, or knowledge of wood production
  • be detail oriented to ensure clear actions follow production SOPs
  • have the ability to switch gears quickly and easily to support the needed work function
  • actively participate in identifying areas of improvement with Millwork leadership and work to develop SOPs that allow us to be world class in our industry
  • make the right call with quality decisions, good judgment and keen problem-solving skills in determining better, more efficient work flows with the same high-quality standard
  • drive results, take initiative and be action-oriented by applying time management and self-management skills every day in order to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
  • be accountable and take ownership of work commitments in meeting clients’ expectations and timelines
  • collaborate and embrace the “Art of the Team” by working with coworkers in order to get the work done on-time and within budget.
  • have a passion for excellence and drive for quality in all that the team produces.

In this position, you will:

  • attend kickoffs as needed to assist with shortening the sales cycle.
  • collaborate with Design Engineers to create manufacturable designs.
  • prototype Millwork projects efficiently and effectively while following the prototyping SOP.
  • assist as needed with production jobs and/or quick turn projects.
  • conduct thorough research on industry trends and emerging technologies to stay informed and contribute innovative ideas to the design and manufacturing processes.
  • develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all prototyping activities, ensuring a streamlined and accessible reference for future projects.
  • coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance overall efficiency.
  • actively participate in training sessions to stay current with the latest tools, techniques, and methodologies in millwork and prototyping.
  • assist in the development and implementation of quality control measures to uphold high standards in product output.
  • mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and skill development within the Millwork department.
  • assist the Millwork team with equipment maintenance.
  • collaborate with the Millwork team for jigging and production set up needs to effectively flow work through the Millwork department.
  • attend the daily Leads meeting to ensure great communication and collaboration.
  • perform miscellaneous projects and completes various tasks as requested by management.
