Job Summary

Responsible for the supervision and administration of workers compensation and risk management administration for Ensign’s US Divisions. Responsible for related cost containment, regulatory reporting and legal compliance. This position is also responsible for recommending, developing, enhancing and maintaining company programs associated with pre-employment physical fitness testing, fit for duty, and medical clinic arrangements.

Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• • First contact upon injury for all U.S Divisions 
  • Available by telephone 24/7 to assist injured workers, Safety and Operations
  • Set up and manage medical treatment plan for injured workers
  • Communicate regularly with claim adjusters
  • Maintain internal Excel spreadsheet of workers compensation claims and distribute internally to Safety and Operations
  • Communicate with Ensign Safety team and Operations regarding the claims
  • Hold internal monthly claim review meetings with Safety and Operations
  • Manage ongoing care of injured workers
  • Manage the cost of claims
  • Coordinate employee light duty
  • Work with the Safety and Operations teams on investigation of injuries
  • Work with legal counsel as needed to provide documentation and insight into litigated claims
  • Oversee the setup of claims in internal claims database and carrier databases
  • Participate in quarterly claim reviews with insurance carrier and broker
  • Ensure compliance with respective state reporting requirements
  • Oversee maintenance of Workers’ Compensation databases and work with IT as required to keep database current and up to date as needed
