ENSCO, Inc. is Hiring an Instrumentation Technician Near Pueblo, CO
ENSCO is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer with experience within the transportation industry to provide instrumentation system installation and operation in support of research, testing and training services to the railway industry in the areas of track; rollingstock; signals and communications; and human factors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Installation of instrumentation sensors
• Cabling of instrumentation sensors
• Setting up data acquisition systems including scale factor, sampling rates and filter frequencies
• Operation of data acquisition system during testing operations in laboratory, on track and remotely
• Reading and interpreting electronic data charts during testing operations
• Prepares accurate testing run logs as required by test engineers and project managers.
• Read and interpret test plans, schedules and other written instructions received from the test engineers and project managers.
• Accountable for compliance of all operating rules, policies and guidelines.
• Attend rules and safety classes and ensure all rules are followed as directed by the Company, FRA, and other governing agencies.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Company.
• Testing programs run day and night, so shift flexibility is a must. Shifts may include morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight. Overtime, weekend, and holiday hours may also be required.
• Minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience installing and operating instrumentation systems, or equivalent experience
• Thorough knowledge of various sensor types and the application thereof
• Ability to react well under pressure in high-stressed situations; accept responsibility for own actions.
• Observe all safety and security procedures; determine appropriate action beyond guidelines; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus for the entirety of the shift.
• Ability to build professional and courteous relationships with your colleagues and supervisors
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a diverse interdisciplinary team
• Must be able to safely climb a 15-foot-high ladder
Railroad regulations require that the selected candidate must pass an e-RAILSAFE security background check and online safety tests to work on railroad properties. Wearing safety equipment (hardhat, steel-toe boots, protective vest and protective eyeglasses) when working on railroad properties is also a requirement. ENSCO will provide all necessary safety equipment.
This safety sensitive position will be subject to drug and alcohol screening.• Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering program.
• 5 years’ experience installation and operating instrumentation and measurement systems for testing operations
• Experience performing testing vehicles and products for rail, road, air or other modes of transportation.
• Knowledge and experience in selecting appropriate sensors for testing velocity, acceleration, displacement, force and other parameters.
