Responsibilities

The Engineer II provides project management, technical support, leadership and oversight to all operational, regulatory and project driven activities as assigned within the asset or region, including pipelines, processing, compression, dehydration, metering, and construction. The Engineer II is responsible for all phases of assigned standard engineering projects, and ensuring the successful conclusion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost. Duties include:

  • Hydraulic Modeling of complex systems utilizing Synergi Gas
  • Material or equipment sizing to specification, project scope and economic development
  • Material or equipment procurement
  • Contracting and bidding work and selection
  • Contract evaluation (construction and commercial)
  • Basic project economic evaluation
  • Cost estimating and generation of AFE’s
  • Development of project schedules
  • Project or construction management (cost and schedule controls)
  • Routine report generation
  • Manage multiple plant and/or pipeline engineering and construction projects whether new or major retrofitting this includes but is not limited to:
    • Project scope development
    • Schedule development
    • Cost estimating and generation of AFE’s
    • Bidding work and contractor selection
    • Material and equipment sizing, specifications, and procurement
  • Investigate problems and requirements of projects, and develop plans for solutions in line with economic, personnel, environmental, and operational considerations
  • Complete complex process modeling with Promax, and handles moderate to complex process problem investigations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum field required
  • 2-5 years of engineering experience within midstream, refinery or petrochemical environment
  • Ability to develop hydraulic models
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively deliver project scope, economic evaluation, cost estimation, scheduling, vendor evaluation/selection/management, material/equipment procurement, and reporting
  • Strong interest in pipeline design and related industry equipment operations and maintenance codes and practices, measurement and Cathodic protection, compression design, gas conditioning and dehydration design, system planning / optimization, gas and liquid pipeline hydraulics, processing and fractionation operation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of an organization
  • Self-motivated and requires little supervision
  • Ability to lead large indirect teams
  • Ability to utilize strong knowledge of the organization, process, codes, standards (industry/company), best practices and business as a whole
  • Team-oriented
