English Rose is Hiring a Maintenance - Groundskeeper Near Edina, MN
Up to $20 per hour based on experience plus a $1,000 retention bonus!
English Rose Suites is seeking a full time Maintenance – Groundskeeping person to assist in maintaining both the exterior and interior of our six beautiful residential care homes located in Edina, Minnesota. We have two new homes that are being remodeled and will soon open so this position is being added to aid with our growth. This is also a great entry-level position to learn maintenance procedures and skills to have future advancement.
Shift: Days 30 – 40 hrs depending on needs, Monday - Friday
Wage Range: $17 - $20 per hour (DOE)
Support you will provide will vary day to day but may include:
- Yard and garden work -
- Winter months would learn to use our plow equipment and applying salt and be flexible to do so as storms come through.
- Spring will work on planting, gardening, laying sod, general landscaping.
- Sweep debris or remove snow from sidewalks and decks
- Move furniture
- Clean windows and light fixtures
- Floor care, including deep cleaning hardwood floors, tile and shampooing carpet
- Perform various minor home repairs (replace knobs, light fixtures, level a door, etc.)
- Routine checks on appliances, security and fire systems
- Change HVAC air filters & light bulbs
- Remove and properly dispose of garbage and recyclable materials
- Run errands to, from and between homes in company provided vehicle
- Other minor routine maintenance tasks as directed by Facilities Manager
Criteria for success:
- Strong work ethic
- Work with minimal supervision
- Ability to climb ladders, bend at waist, kneel, crouch and lift or push 75 pounds
- Current MN driver’s license and clean driving record
- Capability to learn to operate company car with a trailer attached
- Professional and positive attitude as you'll be interacting with our Residents and families as you do your work
- Dependable
- Current vaccinations for both COVID19 and the seasonal Flu (or approved exemption) are required prior to working with Residents for all new staff
