Engineers Gate is Hiring a Remote Quantitative Developer (Python)

Job Summary:

The Quantitative Developer will work across a multitude of trading teams, assisting new and veteran portfolio managers in implementing their research and integrating into an established proprietary research and trading platform, which provides reproducible ways for researchers to work with a wide range of datasets, automatically optimize their models, and test and record their results. The Quantitative Developer will become an expert in using and supporting this system and will be crucial in providing feedback and helping direct the evolution of the platform.

We are searching for a highly motivated, skilled and innovative person who is a clear communicator with very strong collaborative skills. This individual will work closely with both researchers and engineers, gaining exposure to a variety of quantitative research and trading practices and have an immediate impact on the success of new strategies. We place high value on continuous learning and development and this role represents a rare opportunity to work alongside and learn from highly experienced portfolio managers, quantitative engineers and researchers.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with portfolio managers and researchers to develop their research and implement their trading strategies within the research and trading platform
  • Support researchers in how to best use the platform; provide code, examples, personal guidance, and documentation as required
  • Identify improvements and opportunities in the existing platform

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with python development
  • Experience with development and support on the Linux operating system, familiarity with git
  • Bachelors or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or another numerate subject
  • Very strong skills in communication and collaboration

Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Development experience in a financial or data processing environment
  • Experience writing efficient SQL for querying and storing large datasets
