We are seeking an experienced stress engineer to strengthen our Analytical Engineering Team. The team supports various clients in the petrochemical industry and supplies recommendations for new installations as well as modifications of existing piping systems and equipment. As a Stress Engineer it will be your responsibility to perform computational pipe stress and flexibility analyses, pressure vessel assessments and engineering calculationsin adherence to scope, budget, and schedule. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise as well as innovative and design-thinking capabilities that fosters mindset of continuous improvement.

About the Position

• Perform computational pipe stress analysis on various piping systems using CAESAR II software as well as following ASME B31.3 and other relevant codes and engineering practices.
• Resolve high loads on fixed and rotating equipment.
• Evaluate fixed equipment using PV Elite software and following industry code ASME BPVC Section VIII.
• Perform Fitness-for-Service level 1 and level 2 evaluations as per API 579.
• Evaluate storage tanks following API industry codes
• Perform field surveys of piping systems, tanks, and fixed equipment.
• Effectively communicate analysis results and recommendations to clients.
• Develop and deliver project reports, recommendations, and documentation.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Experienced with CAESAR II, NozzlePRO and PV Elite. 
• Comprehensive knowledge of ASME BPVC Sec VIII Division 1 and ASME B31.3, as well as API 510 and API 570.
• Knowledge of API 579 preferred.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication with team members and clients.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt and multi-task.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering with 5 or more years of stress analysis experience.
• PE preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
